Step inside one of San Francisco's iconic Painted Ladies

Step into my historic home, the Blue Painted Lady, a beautifully preserved Victorian on San Francisco’s iconic Postcard Row. Built in 1894, the house is filled with family heirlooms and offers a once-in-a-lifetime glimpse inside one of America’s most famous homes. • In the parlor, I’ll explain my family’s long history with this glorious property and San Francisco. I’ll guide you through rooms on three floors, sharing family heirlooms and the stories of those who once owned them, including a first-edition Mark Twain book. • Are you interested in architecture, film, historic preservation, or the Gold Rush? I’ll tailor your experience and share family stories and historic anecdotes accordingly. • Our tour concludes in the elegant dining room, where I’ll talk about the Painted Ladies’ significance in San Francisco and discuss the importance of preserving this iconic piece of history. You’ll leave feeling a personal connection to my home as well as to the history of San Francisco.

De la semilla a la taza: un recorrido con el mejor tostador de café de San Francisco

San Francisco is at the heart of coffee culture in America—in fact the majority of all green (unroasted) coffee shipped from around the world to the U.S. arrives at the Port of Oakland, just across the bay. At Four Barrel Coffee, we believe that a beautiful cup of coffee begins with beautifully cared-for green coffee. This is made possible through our close partnerships with farmers, importers, exporters, and everyone in between. During this experience, you’ll be immersed in the process of coffee roasting and tasting through our uniquely San Francisco lens of quality. • To awaken your senses, we’ll start with complimentary cup of Four Barrel coffee and freshly baked pastries from our sister bakery, Loquat. • Go behind the scenes and participate in a roast cycle with Four Barrel’s head roaster, who will explain how we roast coffee using our 1957 German-made Probat roaster. • Travel the world through taste with a coffee cupping—also known as coffee tasting—and learn how origin profoundly affects coffee flavor. You’ll have the opportunity to taste your way through the entire menu and discover your favorites while learning about their origins. By the end of your visit, you’ll walk away happily caffeinated, holding your own custom bag of Four Barrel coffee beans. With free coffee, a pastry, and a bag of beans, why not join us!

San Francisco: naturaleza, secuoyas y montaña con un meteorólogo

Get immersed in the redwoods and hike a mountain surrounded by sweeping vistas without leaving the city! This San Francisco park tour gives visitors a personalized experience in Northern California's gorgeous natural environment with a local scientist enriching every step. Golden Gate Park, tiled steps and a panoramic view of the city cap off some highlights along the route. Guests begin the urban hike in the city’s vast Golden Gate Park, meeting in one of the park’s beautiful redwood groves, learning all about the tallest trees on Earth. Next, we’ll continue to explore the park stopping at hidden gems that most locals don't even have on their radar. Finally, the tour culminates at a favorite viewpoint over the city, Grandview Park, where, depending on the day, guests will either catch a view from the Pacific Ocean to the Bay or a bird’s eye view above the fog that serves as San Francisco’s natural air conditioning. Along the way, we’ll hike up two sets of tiled steps and through one of the city’s many bustling neighborhoods where locals shop and dine. Looking forward to showing you the breathtaking geography that our city has to offer! This tour is by no means difficult but is quite the hike! Bring comfortable shoes and athletic clothes. For a shorter and easier version (without the stairs) book my "Golden Gate Park's Hidden Gems, Highlights and History" tour.
