A little gem hidden down a small little alleyway just of the main street in town. Ever changing seasonal menu and great tasting dishes. One of my favourites! Again, make sure to book in advance in high seasons as this is a small restaurant with limited seats.

Based in the small village of Franschhoek in the Western Cape. Franschhoek is renowned world wide for Haut Cuisine and Fine Dining. Cafe des Arts is neither Haute Cuisine nor Fine Dining! Cafe des Arts is a simple, rustic, relaxed restaurant where all that matters is the food. There are no table cloths, no silver service and the food is from the pan to the plate. If you're lucky, you may even get some cutlery!

Cafe des Arts is hidden away in a lovely shady spot just off the main road. It offers breakfast, lunch and dinner with a blackboard menu. The staff are lovely here and it is a nice spot for a good value lunch outside under the trees or for a cozy dinner inside.

Run by the delightfully relaxed Chris and his wife Lou. Both the service and the food are consistently good. The food is not fussy but flavoursome.
